Physical therapy can improve a patient’s quality of life by reducing pain, increasing range of motion, restoring function and preventing injury from occurring or reoccurring. Physical therapy is often prescribed after an injury or surgery, but some patients can utilize physical therapy as an alternative to surgery or medications. There are several specialties within physical therapy that address the specific needs of patients, such as hand therapy for hand injuries, or dizziness and balance therapy for patients who have trouble with falling. Some patients may benefit from a combination of therapy treatments. Click the therapy names on the left to learn more about each.
